The Western Wall, known in Judaism as the Western Wall (Heb. הַכּוֹתֶל הַמַּעֲרָבִי, HaKotel HaMa’aravi), and in Islam as the Burak Wall (Arab. حَائِط ٱلْبُرَاق, Ḥā’iṭ al-Burāq), is an ancient limestone wall in the Old City of Jerusalem. It is a relatively small segment of a much longer ancient retaining wall, which as a whole was known as the „Western Wall“.
