Teotihuacán (Nat. Teōtīhuacān; Spanish Teotihuacan) was one of the two largest cities of pre-Columbian America. It is located 40 kilometers northeast of Mexico City. The name Teotihuacan was given by the Aztecs centuries after the fall of the city, and in the Aztec language it means „where man becomes a god“, or „city of the gods“.
